Questions

Frequently asked questions

If you do not find your question, call or write to us.

What happens at the first visit?

We talk about what you notice and what worries you, we do an exam, and the doctor explains what was found and what your options are. You decide how to go on. The first visit takes 45 to 60 minutes.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Every kind of care has risks. Soreness after an adjustment is common and usually short. Rare serious problems have been reported after neck adjustments, so the doctor explains the risks before any adjustment, and you can say no to any part of a visit. If you have a sudden severe headache or neck pain, new weakness or numbness, chest pain, or loss of bladder or bowel control, call 911 or see a physician first.

Will it hurt?

Most people feel pressure, not pain, and some feel sore afterward. We explain what we will do before we do it, and we stop whenever you ask.

How many visits will I need?

The exam and your goals decide that. The doctor suggests a plan and changes it with you as you go. We do not promise a number of visits, and you can stop at any time.

Do you take my insurance?

We work with some health plans and with auto insurance that has medical coverage. What a plan pays depends on your policy, and the plan decides. Call us with the name of your plan and we check your case before the visit. Read how fees work.

What if I do not use insurance?

You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. Ask us, and we give you a written estimate before the visit. We also give you an itemized receipt in case your plan reimburses part of the cost.

Do I need x-rays?

Only when they are medically necessary. If the doctor recommends them, they explain why and what they hope to see, and you decide.

Can I bring my child, or come while pregnant?

You can come with your family. If you are pregnant, or the visit is for a child, the doctor explains what the care is and what it does not promise, and suggests you check with your obstetrician or pediatrician first.

What if I already see another provider?

That is common. Tell us who you see and, if you allow it, we contact them. Our care adds to your doctor's care; it does not replace it.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy.
