How fees work

You know what you will pay before you start. Here is how.

  • Insurance we work with

We bill some health plans and auto insurance that has medical coverage. What each plan pays depends on your policy, and the plan decides, not us. Tell us the name of your plan and we tell you whether we can bill it.

    • Most PPO plans

    • Auto insurance with medical coverage (PIP)

    • Medicare, which covers only manual spinal manipulation

  • If you pay yourself

If you do not use insurance, we tell you what each part of the visit costs before we start, and you pay at the visit. We do not ask you to prepay a package of visits.

  • Receipts for reimbursement

Ask for an itemized receipt at every visit. You can send it to your plan. Some plans reimburse part of it; the plan decides.

  • An estimate in advance

If you do not use insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. Ask us, and we give you a written estimate before the visit.

  • Checking your benefits

Maleny, in insurance and billing, checks your coverage before the first visit, once you give us the details of your plan. If your plan pays only part, we tell you before you decide.

  • What the first visit includes

A conversation, an exam and the doctor's explanation. It takes 45 to 60 minutes. If there are x-rays, they are only the ones that are medically necessary.

  • Medicare

Medicare covers only manual spinal manipulation. Exams, x-rays and other services are not covered. You pay 20% after the Part B deductible. If we offer you something Medicare does not cover, we ask you to sign a notice (an ABN) with the cost first.

  • Auto insurance in Florida

Auto insurance with personal injury protection (PIP) may cover part of your care after an accident. Your policy and its deadlines are between you and your insurer; we explain what we can bill.

  • If you cannot make a visit

Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy.
